María, being a single mother, had to work, being
from a very humble background and with only
primary education , she dedicated herself to
housework in some homes , although she had been
doing this work since she was fifteen years old when
she finished her primary education . Noemí and her
mother first lived sharing bathroom , patio and
clothesline with two other families ; that house was
very ugly with lizards and vinchucas . When the
opportunity came up to take care of an old lady ,
Maria went with her baby to live in her house with
the bad luck that the old lady was an alcoholic ,
something that Maria did not know yet, after having
an altercation with the son of the old lady , Maria
went with her baby to her brother 's house . It was
there where Naomi began to walk, to tell the truth,
Maria was very nervous and as a little girl she was
also aggressive, then they went to live with her sister
Maria and her daughter , where they stayed for two
years, Naomi started kindergarten at the age of five.
Maria worked in some house and so it was until
they went to live in Spain despite Maria 's doubts , it
was a new world , Maria was thirty -three years old
and her daughter Naomi was five and a h alf y ears o ld,
M aria t hought t hat f or h er daughter more than
anything a better future would await her , she never
thought the bad behavior that her daughter would have in Spain ,
her school failure , her bad company
and even less, She never imagined that she would be
admitted to a psychiatric hospital , otherwise she
would not have made the decision to move to
another country . Maria always wondered why life
had put such a handicap , with the illusion and
optimism that Maria had had before traveling to
Spain, she felt happy but the disillusionment led her
down the path of bitterness.
