The Skyriders: An High-Flying Adventure!

In their latest escapade, Sergeant Chesterfield and Corporal Blutch find themselves embarking on an extraordinary mission. The Union Army needs reconnaissance photographs of Confederate troops' movements, and the daring duo is chosen for this perilous assignment.

Equipped with their wit, resourcefulness, and unwavering dedication, Chesterfield and Blutch set out to document the enemy's activities from high above. However, things take an unexpected turn when they encounter a hot-air balloonist, who mistakes them for famous balloonists and joins them on their mission.

As they soar through the skies, our unlikely heroes face a series of challenges that test their courage and problem-solving abilities. From dodging enemy fire to navigating treacherous storms, every step of the way keeps readers on the edge of their seats.

A Delightful Blend of History, Humor, and Adventure

One of the distinctive features of The Bluecoats series is its ability to seamlessly blend historical events with humor and adventure. Through the adventures of Sergeant Chesterfield and Corporal Blutch, readers not only witness the realities of war but also gain a deeper understanding of the era's social and political contexts.

The Skyriders is no exception. Amidst the heart-pounding action, readers catch glimpses of the struggles faced by soldiers and civilians during the Civil War. The creators have clearly done their research, ensuring the historical accuracy of the uniforms, weaponry, and landscapes depicted in the artwork.

However, it's the humor that truly sets The Bluecoats apart. The banter between Chesterfield and Blutch is both witty and endearing, providing light-hearted moments amidst the chaos. The comic timing is impeccable, and readers will find themselves chuckling even during the most intense sequences.

Artistic Excellence: A Visual Treat

Aside from its engaging storyline, The Skyriders boasts stunning artwork by Willy Lambil. Each panel is a masterpiece, capturing the essence of the characters, landscapes, and action sequences with remarkable skill.

In this volume, Blutch and Chesterfield go up in an observation balloon in order to spy on the Confederate troops. But the plot thickens when our heroes crash land on their superiors. The generals send them behind enemy lines to try and free Stark who has been captured on a previous sortie. A tricky mission, not only for our heroes, but also for the other side.
