This book is an honest attempt to help an `ab initio` tailwheel pilot on his way. It is not an instructional manual but merely an attempt to impart some knowhow before he or she climbs into the cockpit. As the old adage says `forewarned is forearmed`.
I hope it will encourage pupils to discuss some of the topics with their check pilots who I trust would be in broad agreement with my approach.
Included are some `tales from the crypt` which may be of interest to prospective check pilots in order that they may avoid some of the `white knuckle` rides experienced by myself.
