The Early Days:

Johnson's journey in the racing world started at a young age. Growing up in a small town, he was captivated by the roar of engines and the speed of racing cars. He knew from an early age that he wanted to be involved in the adrenaline-fueled world of motorsports. Little did he know that he would one day become the talk of the town and a larger-than-life figure in the industry.

After several years of learning the ropes and working with established promoters, Johnson decided it was time to break the mold and carve his own path. He wanted to create events that would leave a lasting impression on both fans and participants.

The Outrageous Events:

Johnson's events are no ordinary races. They push the limits of what is considered possible and introduce fans to a whole new level of excitement.

One of his most talked-about events was a race with a mix of professional drivers and daredevils from other extreme sports. Picture this - seasoned Formula 1 drivers competing against world-class skateboarders, BMX riders, and even skydivers. It was a mesmerizing spectacle that had fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

But it doesn't stop there. Johnson believes in keeping his audience engaged throughout the event. He introduced crazy challenges and obstacle courses that drivers had to navigate while racing, making it not only a test of speed but also agility and wit. The result? Pure chaos, adrenaline, and a show that no one could ever forget.

The Secrets Revealed:

During our interview with Johnson, we managed to get him to spill some of the secrets behind his outrageous events. One of the keys to his success, he revealed, was partnering with like-minded individuals who shared his vision of pushing boundaries and entertaining the masses.

Another aspect he emphasized was the importance of safety. Contrary to popular belief, Johnson is meticulous when it comes to ensuring the safety of both drivers and spectators. His events are meticulously planned, and he works closely with experts to minimize any risks involved.

But the biggest secret he shared was his ability to adapt and innovate. Johnson constantly seeks new ways to surprise and captivate his audience. Whether it's introducing a never-before-seen racing format or incorporating technology to enhance the experience, he is always one step ahead of the game.

The Future:

So what does the future hold for this outrageous promoter? Johnson has big plans to take his events to a global scale. He wants to bring his unique brand of racing to different parts of the world and introduce fans to a whole new level of excitement.

But that's not all. Johnson is also passionate about creating opportunities for young and aspiring racers. He plans to launch a talent development program that will identify and nurture upcoming talents, ensuring that the racing world continues to see fresh faces and new stars.

As our interview with John "Wildfire" Johnson came to an end, we couldn't help but admire the passion and dedication behind his outrageous events. Racing will never be the same again, thanks to promoters like him who dare to push the boundaries and create unforgettable moments that will be talked about for years to come.

In 1949, when Humpy Wheeler was 11, he attended the very first NASCAR race. For the next ten years, he spent as much time in the pits as he could, and came to know many of the sport’s pioneers.  Eventually, Wheeler began promoting races at Carolina tracks such as Concord Speedway, Robinwood Speedway, and Starlight Speedway. Racing was so rough back then he kept a gun by his side when he paid the purse, and often used his fists to keep order. By the time Wheeler retired in 2008, he had helped NASCAR become the six-billion-dollar-a-year industry it is today. Filled with photographs from Wheeler's personal archives, Growing up NASCAR presents the ultimate behind-the-scenes look at NASCAR from the consumate insider.
