Sometimes you just have to do the things that make you happy and for Simon Hayes it was riding a motorcycle across Europe, to the very edge of Asia.An ex-army man and a keen motorcycle enthusiast with a vast wealth of experience, Simon’s life had gone through 2 years of turmoil, when a snatched conversation an old army pal sowed the seed of an incredible idea – to ride across 20 Countries in 20 Days and arrive on the Asian side of Istanbul. Starting in England on the 6th of June 2017 and collecting two friends on the way, Simon worked his way through western and central Europe, down through the Balkans and into Turkey. Along the way he kept a journal of his incredible journey; it's ups and downs, the routes he took, hardships they experienced, the amazing places they visited and the history of some iconic sites. As epic road trips go, 20 Countries in 20 Days is one that stands out among others for its sheer audacity, awe-inspiring scale and attention to detail. It is a must read for anyone who is thinking about having an adventure of their own such as this and is a truly remarkable account that is hard to put down.
